Avocado Grove
Before the water restrictions was put in place, the average yearly crop was between 8,000 and 15,000 pounds. The entire grove is on an underground sprinkler irrigation system. Each tree receives 28 gallons of water per hour, 8 – 10 hours at a time, two to three times a week, depending on the weather. A balanced organic fertilizer is applied twice a year. A total of three acres are planted with Hass avocados – 100 trees.

CERTIFICATION/SERVICE CONTRACT
This Agreement is between Guaranteed Organic Certification Agency, herein called “Agent”, and Cape Flower Fields herein called “Client”. It shall be for the purpose of providing on-site application service and/or providing organic inspection/certification service for the production or processing of all products listed on the application form located at all sites listed on the application form. The Contract will become effective after initiation by the Client inspection by the Agency.
The application has been placed on hold until the avocados reach fruit-baring stage again. In the interim, all organic practices and procedures are to be performed and maintained, including the frequency and description of the monitoring practices and procedures to be performed and maintained; including the frequency with which they will be performed, so as to be able to verify that the plan is effectively implemented; the description of the record keeping system that will be implemented, including records that fully disclose all activities and transactions in sufficient detail so as to be readily understood and audited; and a description of the management practices and physical barriers established to prevent commingling of organic and non-organic products on a split operation and to prevent contact of organic products with prohibited substances.
